Saved by the Monster Knight

Flora had barely escaped Meryn Castle—where the knightly order was bred through alchemical experimentation—and was already being hunted as a fugitive when she met Simen, Emperor of Haenkan.

"Is running your preferred way of life? I can give you a new identity—one that buries you completely. Your abilities are more than enough. I saw them myself. I want you to become my strength."

"Do you trust me, Simen?"

"No. How long have I even known you?"

Wait. Did I just get played?

And just like that, Flora became a knight of Haenkan.

Brutal training. Cold colleagues. Days that ran on killing until feeling itself seemed to go quiet inside her. But living in Haenkan, slowly, almost without her noticing—Flora began to learn something she had nearly forgotten. That she had a heart at all.

Especially because of this man.

"Let's protect each other."

"……"

"I'll make sure you never have to run again. And you protect me."

With Simen, she could never tell where the joke ended and the truth began. What she felt around him, though—that was something different entirely.

A long journey back to herself. And toward something she hadn't known to look for.

Love.
