TSROTRATBP Chapter 6
As soon as morning broke, Ahin tossed me to a maid and left.
The maid, like Iverin, dutifully called me "Miss Rabbit" and introduced herself as Meimi.
Her red bob cut and large eyes gave a fresh feeling, but she was excessively taciturn, so I could obtain almost no information.
At the very least, even when bathing me or giving snacks, she silently performed her duties without a single word.
Moreover, a strange distance existed between Meimi and me. Because I found her burdensome.
Predators had physiques a head larger than the rabbit beastmen I'd seen so far, and even maids had sharp fangs that gleamed. If she happened to bite my throat, instant death was self-evident.
'...What exactly is that black panther?'
The first time I left the bedroom with Meimi, I couldn't close my gaping mouth.
The bedroom had been luxurious, but the scale of the corridor that unfolded was a sight I'd never encountered even in imagination.
The marble walls and decorative items obviously expensive, and the ceiling was high enough to make my eyes pop.
Seeing Ahin's screw-loose temperament, I'd figured him for some eccentric rich person, but a mansion of this scale—wouldn't he need to be nobility even within black panther territory? At a glance, it seemed at least twice as valuable as the Raebien mansion.
Furthermore, judging from Meimi's words—"I've been assigned to serve Miss Rabbit by the young master's orders"—Ahin occupied the position of this mansion's young master.
Meaning the head of household's son. The more I learned, the more shocking things piled up.
If only Meimi would chat a bit more, but regrettably, she didn't open her mouth unless necessary.
And currently, having ventured out for a garden stroll, I felt hesitation when the main gate came into view from afar.
The iron bars were certainly large enough for a baby rabbit's physique to slip through.
Two hypotheses collided in my mind—the desire to escape versus the thought that staying here might be safer.
'Then cry more.'
'I'll eat you the day after tomorrow, so try harder.'
When Ahin's creepy smile surfaced, my mind went blank. Alternating between looking at the main gate's iron bars and the knights, I raised my head slightly.
Meimi was currently meeting with a knight who appeared high-ranking, engaged in conversation.
'Will such a good opportunity come again?'
It wouldn't. The bedroom had no holes to escape through, and leaving the room was impossible unless someone opened the door.
Just jumping down from the bed was already a difficult task.
"Then, good work."
When signs appeared that the conversation was wrapping up, I grew anxious and quickly turned my body toward the main gate. Rather than ending up on the dining table having done nothing, attempting escape wasn't a bad option either.
'Move, move!'
Passing the surrounding employees in an instant, I ran vigorously.
At a speed that made my fur bristle, a dagger suddenly flew—puk—and stuck in the ground in front of me.
'Ah!'
Nearly colliding with the blade, I skidded and rolled across the grass.
'A sword.... A sword... from where?'
The sharply honed blade glinted in the sunlight.
Someone lifted me with careful hands while I lay frozen on the ground. The owner of those hands was none other than Meimi.
"Miss Rabbit, outside the mansion is dangerous."
Alternating between the dagger stuck in the ground and her, I kept opening and closing my mouth.
No—dangerous or not, what was with that dagger? Why on earth did a maid possess such sword skills?
Turning pale, I was carried back to the mansion in Meimi's arms like that.
This is strange. This place is really strange.
